Preventative eye care is an important part of maintaining healthy eyes and vision. Early detection and treatment of eye problems and diseases is imperative in preventing vision impairment and/or blindness. Regular eye examinations are especially important if any of the following risk factors affect you, such as: history of eye injury, diabetes or other systemic diseases, family history of eye problems, and anyone over the age of 40.

Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) is a safe, non-laser procedure developed specifically for patients over 40 who are tired of their reading glasses. NearVision CK uses radiofrequency energy to reshape the front surface of the eye (cornea). This is a fast, safe and easy way to bring close vision back into focus that does not require a laser or a scalpel. CK is the first and only FDA-approved technology for the improvement of near vision. Conductive Keratoplasty is one of todays most advanced surgical technologies and Dr. Gaynor is one of the first surgeons in Northern California to become certified to perform it.
  
LASER VISION CORRECTION <click for more info
Many people rely on glasses and contacts to correct their vision, but some find these methods inconvenient, costly, uncomfortable or unattractive. Dr. Gaynor is an experienced laser surgeon and corneal specialist. He performs a full range of refractive surgery including Custom Ablation LASIK using wavefront technology. With Custom Ablation, a wavefront analyzer is used to create a “fingerprint” of the eye showing a precise representation of aberrations in the visual system. We offer a complimentary LASIK evaluation to determine if you are a candidate.

Cataracts are the clouding of the eye’s natural lens resulting in decreased or blurred vision. Dr. Gaynor is an excellent cataract surgeon and utilizes state of the art equipment to maximize vision results. Cataract surgery has a very high success rate with few complications and a relatively short recovery time. Approximately 20 million people age 40 and over have cataracts. We offer a comprehensive eye examination to detect cataract formation.

Glaucoma is considered a “quiet” disease because there are generally no symptoms associated with its onset. Glaucoma is a progressive disease which often causes irreparable damage before it is discovered. Of the 2.2 million Americans that have glaucoma, one half may be unaware they have this potentially blinding disease because it is symptom less. Prevention and treatment involve early detection through a comprehensive eye examination and related diagnostic testing.
